 | |  | | I admit I was real shocked, frustrated and mad at Kishi AND Naruto for playing with us fans and with Hinata’s feelings. Naruto practically claimed Sakura as his “girlfriend”. IN. FRONT. OF. HINATA.
Luckily, it seems that Kishi has yet to depict Hinata’s further reaction to this; as we’ve only seen her in few panels of this chapter.
BUT. I noticed this:
Can’t see? Have a better look:
Look at Naruto’s face. If he really loved Sakura, then there would be another panel of his lips curving into a smile and him happily proclaiming that, or perhaps something around those lines. Or maybe he would be like he was when he was still twelve and act like the lovesick looney he was.
But no. He looks rather emotionless, dazed, or seemingly confused or thinking about it. Perhaps he’s rethinking his feelings for Sakura? I don’t know. Leave it to Kishi.
Also, if you look closer at Sakura’s face in the panel, you can tell that it was probably meant for a simple comic relief to ease the seriousness of the situation.
Later in the chapter, when Sasuke finally arrives, please have a look at Sakura’s face HERE:
She’s practically dropped everything about Naruto, and focuses solely on Sasuke.
And even when Naruto was the first to call out to Sasuke, who does the Uchiha respond to first?
That’s right, Sakura.
It seems that Kishi is dropping hints of which pairings might as well stand a chance. Note that this is only MY assumption | |  | |  | |
