Kishimoto has confirmed in an interview that the timeskip between 699 and 700 is 15 years, not the 12 years Shounen Jump would have you believe with the timeline they made up for material like The Last and their epilogue novels. Source:
http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/inte...mic-con/.94186 This makes Tenten and Lee 33 years old and Naruto and the rest of the rookies 32 years in the epilogue. The canon pairings would have had kids around 24 years of age, given that Sarada has been stated by Kishimoto to be 11 years old in Gaiden. Unless, of course, Kishimoto meant that 699-700 was 12 years and 700-Gaiden was 3 years, making the timeskip still 15 years but including Gaiden too. So I may have misunderstood and the timeskip SJ published might have been correct in how years were divided up between the manga and the Gaiden - although that timeline was created primarily to show where non-manga material fell so fans had an idea when these stories are set. I personally think 699-700 being 15 years is a lot more plausible because it makes Mirai 15-16 years old in the last chapter where she departs on a mission to guard Kakashi. She looks to be that age at least. But if the timeskip was 12 years, that would make her a preteen and she does not look like one at all.
